5 stretches for pain-free, flexible legs (VIDEO)

Editor’s note: This video is the fourth in a series to help you get a strong, stable lower body. Here we feature post-exercise stretches.

Quick workouts are great for people with tight schedules, but it’s important to save time for stretching after you exercise even if you’re busy.

Strength training contracts your muscles. Leaving them in a shortened position makes movement difficult and painful. Stretching returns your muscles to a lengthened position, which increases flexibility.

Focus on stretching the muscles targeted in your workout.

The final video in our lower body exercises series features five stretches to perform after your leg workout. Hold each stretch for 30 seconds and repeat three times on each leg.
