The ‘widow-maker’: One patient’s life-changing heart event

Don Nystrom retired at the age of 57 and has enjoyed life immensely with his family and friends, spending time at home in Marshfield with his wife, Barb, and at the family cabin near Rhinelander, Wisconsin, where sometimes fish bite.

He led what he thought was a healthy life, with an occasional meal of hot dogs and macaroni and cheese.

That was his life until one day when he suffered a heart event called “the widow-maker.”

Watch Don’s story about his journey, from regaining consciousness to realizing an ambulance was in his driveway for him; and through heart surgery, followed by a growing sense of gratitude.

Not one word about animal products that cause heart disease. Please "shout out" to whole food plant
based diets. Meat, dairy and other animal based products cause this problem. Please watch the documentary
called: Forks Over Knives available at Netflix or other video outlets. We need to treat the cause not the results.
