cardiovascular accreditationA major team effort has led to reaccreditation for some of Marshfield Clinic Health System cardiovascular teams.

‌‌Marshfield Medical Center-Weston, Wausau Center and Merrill Center Cardiovascular Ultrasound Labs have received joint reaccreditation of their Adult Echocardiography and Stress Echocardiography programs through the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).

Being an accredited facility demonstrates commitment to quality patient care and compliance with national standards in providing testing for the diagnosis of heart disease and disorders.

‌‌Echocardiography is used to assess different areas of the heart and can detect heart disease or signs of serious conditions. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. Stroke follows closely as the fourth highest cause of death. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), more than 2,150 Americans die each day from cardiovascular disease. This amounts to about one person every 40 seconds.
