I have to laugh at Marshfield Clinic's "Wellness Team" wanting you to be in the "best health you can be" so a list of gluten-free sugary candy is listed. While I realize it's Halloween and kids will Trick or Treat, isn't it true that if we were to walk to Marshfield Clinic's cafeteria or food areas, we'd see all sorts of unhealthy food choices? My Mother once mentioned the donuts in the cafeteria there awhile back and the Dr replied, "…but they sure taste good!" I have a feeling there are all kinds of foods offered to the patients at the hospital that simply don't pass the health test either. In Stevens Point at Aspirus there's a vending machine right outside the elevators as you go to your appt just full of processed chips and sugary candy. When I bring this up to various hospitals and clinics, I often hear, "We also offer healthy choices, too!" – when these facilities should be the leaders in this field. So many illness are diet-related. Of course, a treat every now and then is fine but real nutrition is often put on the back burner in these so-called health facilities. Just strikes me funny – and sad – all at the same time. Thanks for reading my comments.
